SUPERCAT JET (ΣΟΥΠΕΡΚΑΤ ΤΖΕΤ)
-Sea Jets
ex-SUPECAT (ΣΟΥΠΕΡΚΑΤ) for Golden Star Ferries (2017-2021)
Built in 2000 (age 24). Registered in Piraeus. Current line: None (under refit in Salamina)
The high speed catamaran SUPERCAT JET was built in 2000 in Australia, having been ordered as the CARAIBE JET for Oceanfast Ferries. However, the latter company went bankrupt before the ship was completed. She was subsequently sold to the German company AG Ems and she was renamed POLARSTERN. Her construction was finished in Germany and she entered service in late 2000 on the Papenburg-Ditzum-Emden-Eemshaven-Borkum-Heligoland line on the North Sea. She was sold in 2008 to the Estonian company Linda Line and she was renamed KAROLIN. She was inserted on the Tallinn-Helsinki line in 2009, where she stayed until 2017. She was sold in 2018 to the Greek company Golden Star Ferries, and she was renamed SUPERCAT. She was converted in Perama and in Salamina, and she was deployed on the Piraeus-Milos-Folegandros-Santorini-Ios-Naxos-Mykonos line in 2019. In 2021 she was sold to Sea Jets and she was renamed SUPERCAT JET. She was inserted on the Santorini-Ios-Naxos-Paros-Mykonos-Tinos line in 2022. In 2023 she operated on the Paros-Naxos-Mykonos-Santorini line, while in 2024 she was on Santorini-Ios-Paros-Mykonos line.

My first picture of the ship as the SUPERCAT JET, as she is seen docked in Salamina for the winter, following the completion of her debut season under Sea Jets (11/2022).
