SUPER JET 2 (ΣΟΥΠΕΡ ΤΖΕΤ 2)

-Sea Jets

ex-SEA JET 2 (ΣΗ ΤΖΕΤ 2), also for Sea Jets (2006-2023)

Built in 1998 (age 26). Registered in Piraeus. Current line: None (under drydock in Salamina)

The small high speed catamaran SUPER JET 2 was built in 1998 in Norway for the Greek company Strintzis Lines. She became the second high speed craft of her company, following her sister ship, namely the SEA JET 1 (now the SUPER JET, also for Sea Jets). She was initially known as the MIRAGE, and she was deployed on the Piraeus-Aegina-Poros-Hydra-Ermioni-Spetses-Porto Cheli line on the Saronic Gulf in 1998. In 1999 she was renamed SEA JET 2, and she was transferred to her company's Cyclades services, operating on the Rafina-Andros-Tinos-Mykonos-Paros line. Strintzis Lines was then purchased by Attica Group in 2000 and became Blue Star Ferries. The SEA JET 2, along with the SEA JET 1, were placed under the Blue Star Jets division. In 2006, the SEA JET 2 was sold to Sea Jets, thus becoming the second ship to join the company, after her sister ship had done so in 2004. She was transferred to the Rafina-Tinos-Mykonos-Paros line by her new owners, and she operated there from 2006 to 2012. In 2013 she operated in Piraeus for the first time in 15 years, being deployed on the Piraeus-Milos-Folegandros-Santorini-Amorgos-Koufonisi-Naxos-Mykonos line, while in 2014 she operated on the Piraeus-Sifnos-Milos-Folegandros-Ios-Santorini-Amorgos-Koufonisi-Naxos-Mykonos line. In 2015 she operated on the Piraeus-Sifnos-Milos-Folegandros-Ios-Santorini-Amorgos-Koufonisi-Naxos-Paros-Mykonos line, while in 2016 she was moved to the Piraeus-Serifos-Sifnos-Milos-Folegandros-Ios-Santorini-Amorgos-Koufonisi-Naxos-Mykonos line. In 2017 she collided with the pier of the port of Sifnos. In 2019 she and the SUPER JET were deployed on the Piraeus-Serifos-Sifnos-Milos-Folegandros-Ios-Santorini-Amorgos-Koufonisi-Naxos-Paros-Mykonos line. In 2020 she and the SUPER JET were deployed on the Piraeus-Serifos-Sifnos-Milos-Kimolos-Folegandros-Sikinos-Santorini-Amorgos-Koufonisi-Naxos-Paros-Mykonos line. In 2022 she and the SUPER JET operated on an inter-Cyclades service on the Sifnos-Milos-Folegandros-Santorini-Amorgos-Koufonisi-Naxos-Paros-Mykonos line. In 2023 she was renamed SUPER JET 2.
