MODELS (ΜΑΚΕΤΕΣ)
In many Greek shipping companies' offices and agencies, or inside the ships' onboard stores, you can find a few models of ships that these companies own or used to own. Here are some:
PHOTOS:
The BLUE GALAXY of Blue Star Ferries (the ex-LEFKA ORI of ANEK Lines), which operated for them from 2015 until 2024, when she returned to ANEK Lines as the KISSAMOS. Picture taken in 9/2020.
The BLUE STAR DELOS of Blue Star Ferries, which has been operating for them since her delivery in 2011. Picture taken in 7/2015.
The BLUE STAR ITHAKI of Blue Star Ferries, which operated for them from 2000 to 2014. Having spent the first 14 years of her career on the Cyclades, she was sold to the Canadian company Bay Ferries Limited, for whom she operates as the FUNDY ROSE. The model represents the ship without her trademark blue stripe that was painted over her deck windows, as this was added just after Blue Star Ferries was established as the successor company to Strintzis Lines in 2000. Picture taken in 10/2022.
The BLUE STAR NAXOS of Blue Star Ferries, which has been operating for them since her delivery in 2002. Picture taken in 7/2015.
The BLUE STAR 1 of Blue Star Ferries, which has been operating for them since her delivery in 2000. The model represents the ship during her first years of service, when the Strintzis Lines signal was on her hull. Picture taken in 7/2015.
A replica of the ELENA F of Elena F Shipping onboard the vessel herself. Built in 1998, she has spent the bulk of her career on the Piraeus-Salamina line, on which her company has been a key player since 1967. Picture taken in 8/2021.
The EL. VENIZELOS of ANEK Lines, which has been operating for them since her delivery in 1992, although she has also been chartered to various operators across the Mediterranean Sea during certain seasons. Picture taken in 9/2022.
A small replica of the FIOR DI LEVANTE of Levante Ferries (owned by them since 2012), given to me as a gift from my brother and my sister after they bought it on the ship's store. Picture taken in 6/2017.
The SUPERFAST IV of Superfast Ferries, which operated for them from 1998 to 2002. Having spent the first four years of her career on the Adriatic Sea, she and her sister ship, namely the SUPERFAST III, were sold to the Australian company TT-Line Company Pty Ltd, for whom they began service as the SPIRIT OF TASMANIA I and the SPIRIT OF TASMANIA II, respectively. Picture taken in 9/2021.
The SUPERFAST VII of Superfast Ferries, which operated for them from 2002 to 2006. She was actually never deployed in Greece, but she was on the company's Baltic Sea itineraries. She is currently sailing as the STENA SUPERFAST VII for Stena Line. Picture taken in 7/2015.
A replica of the THEOLOGOS P of Fast Ferries onboard the ship herself. She was bought by her company in 2006 and she has successfully been operating on the Rafina-Andros-Tinos-Mykonos line since 2007. Picture taken in 8/2020.
