KNOSSOS PALACE (ΚΝΩΣΟΣ ΠΑΛΑΣ)

-Minoan Lines (2000-2020)

current CRUISE BONARIA for Grimaldi Lines

Built in 2000 (age 24). Was registered in Heraklion. Current line: None in Greece, sold to Grimaldi Lines for service in Italy

The cruiseferry KNOSSOS PALACE was the first of the four sister ships ordered by the Greek company Minoan Lines between 2000 and 2002. She was completed in 2000 in Italy, and she was deployed (along with her sister ship, namely the FESTOS PALACE-today the KYDON PALACE-which was delivered in 2001) on her company's main itinerary, namely on the Piraeus-Heraklion line, while also becoming the flagship Minoan Lines. In 2018 she was deployed on the Piraeus-Milos-Heraklion line. in 2019 she underwent a minor conversion in Malta in order to receive scrubbers, becoming the second ship in the Greek coastal service to receive them, after her current fleetmate, namely the MYKONOS PALACE (known as the FESTOS PALACE since 2020). After 20 extremely successful years under Minoan Lines, she was transferred to the Italian company Grimaldi Lines, with the ex-OLYMPIA PALACE that was operating under the latter as the CRUISE BONARIA being chosen to replace her as the new KNOSSOS PALACE on the Piraeus-Heraklion line. As such, the original KNOSSOS PALACE was herself renamed CRUISE BONARIA. She was deployed on the Civitavecchia-Olbia line on the Tyrrhenian Sea in 2021.
