The impressive double-ended ferry GLYKOFILOUSA V was built in 2017 in Greece. She was delivered to the Greek company Panagia Glykofilousa NE, having been the seventh ship ordered by them, alongside her sister ship, namely the GLYKOFILOUSA IV. She was deployed on the Perama-Salamina line. Upon her introduction to service, she was one one of the most modern and exciting double-ended ferries to have ever been built. In 2023 she was sold to the Costa Rican company Naviera Tambor and was renamed TAMBOR IV. She arrived in Costa Rica in 2024, where she underwent a conversion before being inserted on the Puntarenas-Paquera line on the Nicoya Gulf.
