GEORGIA (ΤΖΩΡΤΖΙΑ)
-Sarris Cruises
Built in 1994 (age 31). Registered in Piraeus. Current line: None (under refit in Salamina)
The small passenger ship GEORGIA was built in 1994, being one of many sister ships built in the late 1980s and 1990s that were acquired by Greek companies. She was initially known as the EVPATORIYA 42 and operated on the Yevpatoriya-Sevastopol line for Yevpatoriya Shipping. She remained there until 1995, when she was acquired by the Greek company Sarris Cruises. She was renamed GEORGIA, and following a conversion in Salamina, she began performing daily cruises on the Parga-Antipaxoi-Paxoi-Corfu line on the Ionian Sea, while also occasionally operating on the Corfu-Sarandë line together with her fleetmate, namely the RENA S II (now owned by Ionian Seaways). In late 2008, while she was undergoing her annual refit in Salamina, she was was severely damaged by a fire which destroyed her bridge and upper deck. As a result of this, she remained laid-up in Salamina for the entire 2009 season, before heading to Perama in 2010 in order to undergo repairs and a general refit. She resumed service in 2011, being once again deployed on the Parga-Antipaxoi-Paxoi-Corfu line. In 2016 she operated on the Corfu-Paxoi-Antipaxoi line as well as on the Corfu-Sarandë line (which she also served during the winter season from 2015 to 2019), while from 2017 to 2019 she solely operated on the latter service during the summer. In 2020 she was back on the Corfu-Paxoi-Antipaxoi line.
