EVIA STAR (ΕΥΒΟΙΑ ΣΤΑΡ)

-Olympian Ferries

Built in 1980 (age 44). Registered in Piraeus. Current line: Rafina-Marmari

The ferry EVIA STAR was built in 1980 in Japan as a Ro-Ro carrier. She was initially known as the HAYABUSA No. 3 of the Japanese company Kyoei Unyu, and she served the Aomori-Hakodate line. After spending 20 years there, she was sold to the Greek company Geraistos NE. She was renamed EVIA STAR and she was converted into a passenger ferry in Perama. After a year-long conversion, she was deployed on the Rafina-Marmari-Karystos line on the Petalioi Gulf. She collided with the PENELOPE A of Agoudimos Lines in 2004 and then with the AQUA JEWEL of Alpha Ferries (now of Sea Jets) in 2007, both times in Rafina. In 2010 she was once again converted in Perama, whereupon she received sponsons. She returned to service on the Rafina-Marmari line, where she has been remaining ever since. In 2024 she was sold to the Greek company Olympian Ferries.
