The small passenger ship ELAFONISOS was built in 1989 in Greece, as the MEVE for the Greek company Gialinakis Shipping. She began service on the Palaiochora-Sougia line on Southwestern Crete. In 1992 she was renamed ELAFONISOS and she was deployed on the the Palaiochora-Elafonisi line, performing daily cruises connecting Crete with the small island of Elafonisi. She remained in this service for the next 20 years, until she was sold to Agia Marina I NE. She was employed on the Paros-Antiparos line on the Cyclades, operating under the Antiparos Lines brandname. She operated there until 2014. The following year, with the arrival of the newly-built ANTIPAROS STAR, she was sold to the Greek company Elafonisos-Christina Cruise, which is based in Zakynthos. The latter deployed her on the Ionian Sea, on the Zakynthos-Marathonisi line.
