The small high speed boat CAPTAIN KOULIS was built in 2007 in Greece for the Santorini Boatmen Union, with whom she has spent her entire career. She was the first newly-built fast and modern high speed craft for the company, and her success inspired the construction of three other sister ships (namely the YPAPANTI, the NEFELI and the ORPHEAS). The ship has primarily served as a tour boat between Santorini and the volcanic islands of Nea Kameni and Palaia Kameni, along with transporting cruise ship passengers on the island. She occasionally operates tours from Santorini to Ios or helps transport cruise ship passengers on the latter island. She has also served as a hospital ship on various occasions, and she is now affectionally labeled by her company as their 'ambulance'.
