AGIOS NIKOLAOS L (ΑΓΙΟΣ ΝΙΚΟΛΑΟΣ Λ)
-Agios Nikolaos Shipping
Built in 1999 (age 25). Registered in Piraeus. Current line: Perama-Salamina
The double-ended ferry AGIOS NIKOLAOS L was built in 1999 in Greece, as the AGIOS ELEFTHERIOS III for Feidias NE. Due to replace the company's previous ship, the landing craft AGIOS ELEFTHERIOS II, she was the third double-ended ferry to be built and to begin service in Greece. She was deployed on the Perama-Salamina line, although her service there lasted just one year. In 2000 she was deployed on the Rion-Antirrion line, where she remained until 2004. She returned to the Perama-Salamina line in 2005 and stayed there until 2008, when she was sold to the Turkish company Şehir Hatları, being renamed SAYKON I. She left Greece for İstanbul, where she, however, remained laid-up without ever entering service. She was then acquired by the Greek company Agios Nikolaos Shipping, hence becoming the first-ever double-ended ferry to make a comeback in Greece after having been previously sold overseas. She returned to Greece in 2009 under the name AGIOS NIKOLAOS L, and was deployed again on the Perama-Salamina line. She was deployed again on the Rion-Antirrion line in 2015, before returning once again to the Perama-Salamina line in 2016. She once again returned to the Rion-Antirrion line in 2021. She was then inserted back to the Perama-Salamina line in 2023.
